Electrical supply
Confirm the dryer's required voltage, phase, and frequency exactly match what is available at the install location. A dryer specified for a different supply may not run, or may run poorly. Have a qualified electrician confirm that the circuit, protection, and disconnect meet the dryer's documented requirements and local code.
Location and ventilation
- Refrigerated dryers reject heat into the room. Small, enclosed compressor rooms can get hot enough to reduce capacity.
- Leave the clearance the manufacturer specifies around air intakes and exhausts.
- Avoid dusty locations that clog the condenser, and locations that can freeze.
Piping and drainage
- Match connection sizes to your piping to avoid unnecessary restrictions.
- Plan bypass valves so the dryer can be serviced without shutting down the air system, if that matters to your operation.
- Route condensate to an appropriate drain. Compressor condensate can contain oil; check local rules on disposal.
