Troubleshooting Questions to Investigate Before Buying a Replacement

Water downstream does not always mean the dryer has failed. Check these causes before ordering new equipment.

Start with the simple checks

  • Is the condensate drain working? A stuck drain can let separated water carry downstream.
  • Is the dryer bypass valve accidentally open?
  • Is the condenser clogged with dust, or is airflow around the unit blocked?
  • Has room temperature risen, for example in summer or after other equipment moved in?

Has demand changed?

A larger compressor, longer run times, or new air-hungry tools can push more air through the dryer than it is documented to handle. In that case the dryer may be working as designed and simply be undersized for the current system.

When to call a technician

Refrigeration circuit problems require a qualified technician. If simple checks do not resolve the issue, a service visit may cost less than a replacement, or may confirm that replacement is the right call.

General guidance only, not engineering advice. Confirm sizing and installation with the manufacturer, an authorized distributor, or a qualified technician.
